Kuwait fire tragedy: Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin announces helpline, details here

Chennai: After 49 people, including 40 Indians were killed in a fire that broke out in an apartment building in the Mangaf area, south of Kuwait city on Wednesday,  Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has announced helpline numbers. Stalin directed the department to provide necessary medical assistance to the affected Tamils and to keep their relatives informed about the situation.

In a social media post in this regard on X, Stalin said “I was shocked and saddened to learn that more than 40 Indians have died in the fire that broke out yesterday in the building where the workers were staying in Mangab, Kuwait. It is with a heavy heart that I offer my deepest condolences and condolences to the families of all the deceased. I have directed the Tamil Nadu Welfare and Rehabilitation Commission to collect information about whether there are any workers from Tamil Nadu.”

He further said, “all the injured are being treated in hospitals in Kuwait. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs is in constant touch with the Indian Embassy in Kuwait and the Tamil organizations there.
