New Delhi: The Men in Blue beat Bangladesh by 133 runs in the third and last T20I at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday, October 12 and completed a series sweep against The Bangla Tigers.
Sanju Samson performed exceptionally well in the match and delivered his best-ever T20I performance. He also silenced his critics by showcasing the immense talent he possesses. Sanju started his innings aggressively and smashed Taskin Ahmed for four consecutive boundaries. After Taskin, he also took on Rishad Hossain and smacked him for five maximums in an over.
Samson completed his half-century in 22 balls and then converted it to the maiden T20I century in just next 18 balls. This was the second fastest T20I ton by an Indian batter and also he became the first Indian wicketkeeper batter in history to hit a century in T20I cricket.

Sanju Samson in the post-match presentation said that the dressing room and leadership group backed him and told him that they will back him no matter what.
“The dressing room and the leadership group which we have, they keep telling me, “I know what type of talent you have and we back you no matter what,” Not in words, in actions also they’ve shown me” Sanju said in the post-match presentation.
Sanju further talked about his failures and said that in the last series, he got two ducks and went back to Kerala thinking ‘what will happen now’ but the coach and captain backed him in this series.
“In the last series I got two ducks and went back to Kerala thinking, “kya hoga bhai,” but they backed me in this series and I am very happy that I gave something to smile for my captain and coach. (On his victory punch) It has a long story. I have been trying to do something like this (five sixes in an over) from last one year. I was chasing it and it happened today” he added.
He also talked about his struggles and said that he knows how to deal with pressure because he failed a lot but he focuses on the process.
“It can get frustrating knowing what you can do out there, and I have also felt I can do much better But, with playing so many games I know how do deal with pressure and my failures because I have failed a lot. Just focus was on process and knowing you will do well” Sanju added.
