New Delhi: The Indian Railways has started special trains for Maha Kumbh from different parts of the country. A special train from Himachal Pradesh’s Una district will connect Prayagraj, where the Maha Kumbh is underway. The journey promises to make the pilgrimage site accessible. Maha Kumbh Special Train Schedule from Una, Himachal

The first train will leave on Friday night, with more trips planned in the coming weeks.

The first train departs from Amb-Andaura at 10.05 pm on Friday and arrives at Una railway station at 10.30 pm. It will reach Prayagraj’s Phaphamau Junction on Saturday at 6 pm. The return trip starts from Phaphamau Junction at 10.30 pm on Saturday, arriving back at Amb-Andaura by 5.50 pm on Sunday.

Stoppages

This train stops at important locations such as Nangal Dam, Anandpur Sahib, Roop Nagar, Morinda, Chandigarh, Ambala Cantt, Yamunanagar Jagadhri, Saharanpur, Roorkee, Najibabad, Moradabad, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Lucknow, and Rae Bareli.

The train service has received a strong response. Five coaches in AC three-tier and sleeper class have been fully booked in just eight days. Many devotees are looking forward to their chance to visit the Maha Kumbh.

The launch of this special train shows the railway department’s promise to provide easy travel for pilgrims. With its well-planned schedule and stops, this service makes travelling easier for many devotees.

This initiative is expected to improve the spiritual experience for those attending the Maha Kumbh, helping them reach one of the largest religious gatherings in the world.

To meet the demand, the railway department has planned more services:

  • Second Train: January 20
  • Third Train: February 5
  • Fourth Train: February 9
  • Fifth Train: February 15
  • Sixth Train: February 23

Each train will follow the same schedule and stop to help as many pilgrims as possible.

About Maha Kumbh 2025

The 2025 Prayag Kumbh Mela, also called the 2025 Maha Kumbh, will take place from January 13 to February 26, 2025, at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India. This important event happens once every 144 years and will last 44 days. It is expected to attract around 40 crore visitors.
