Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde felicitates Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav & Shivam Dube in Mumbai

New Delhi: The celebrations for the Indian cricket team and the felicitation process for clinching the historic T20 World Cup title is yet not over. On Friday in South Mumbai, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde felicitated Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube and Yashasvi Jaiswal at his official residence.

All the Mumbai-based cricketers were part of the team that clinched that showpiece event title last Saturday. At an event which was held at the Varsha bungalow, Shinde honoured the players lauding their effort that powered India to a title-winning victory. The CM also hailed Suryakumar for his match-defining catch in the summit clash against South Africa.

On the occasion of the felicitation ceremony at the Maharashtra Vidhan Bhavan, Rohit Sharma thanked the entire audience present on the occasion. He also thanked the CM for inviting him along with other mates for the felicitation ceremony. The World Cup-winning skipper also said that they are really grateful that they were invited and felicitated at such a ceremony.

Earlier on Thursday, the Indian team celebrated its World Cup win with an open-top bus parade on Marine Drive as fans turned up in big numbers. After the one-kilometre-long roadshow, Team India was felicitated by the BCCI at the Wankhede Stadium which was also packed to the brim. During the ceremony, India captain Rohit dedicated the World Cup trophy to the “entire nation” besides praising the Mumbai crowd for their support.
