Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh bring home India’s second medal at Paris 2024 Olympics

New Delhi: Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh clinched a bronze medal in 10m Air Pistol mixed team event after edging past the Korean pair of Oh Ye Jin and Lee Wonho. The shooting duo brought home India’s second medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Both the medals have come in shooting.

Bhaker scripted history by becoming the first Indian woman to win an Olympic shooting medal, winning the bronze in the 10m Air Pistol event on Sunday. With another bronze in her kitty, Bhaker scripted more history by becoming the first athlete from independent India to win two medals in a single edition.

Meanwhile, Sarabjot redeemed himself after missing the cut for the 10m air pistol final with a medal in the mixed team event.

India won the match 16-10 in the end.

The 22-year-old Indian shooter became the second Indian woman, after P.V. Sindhu, to win two Olympic medals.

Bhaker was visibly emotional after winning the second medal at the Paris 2024 Games.

“Thank you so much. I feel proud and a lot of gratitude. It is just blessings. Thanks for all the blessings and love. We can only control what is in our hands. I had a chat with my father regarding this and decided we will keep fighting till the last shot. We just wanted to give our best,” said Bhaker.

India have made a remarkable comeback in shooting at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The shooting team returned empty-handed in the last two Olympics at Rio and Tokyo.
