New Delhi: The Men in Blue will take on Australia in the five-match Test series, starting on November 22. It will be a crucial series for the home side as Rohit Sharma and Co. have dominated the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) for the last 10 years and the Australian team will be looking for revenge.
The upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy will be the final Test series for both India and Australia before the 2025 World Test Championship Final. Team India is currently in the first position with 68.52 percentage points in the WTC table and Australia is in second position with 62.50 percentage points. The WTC Final will be played at Lord’s from June 11 to 15 next year.
The Men in Blue have won every bilateral Test series against Australia since losing 2-1 in an away series. Team India also won back-to-back Test series in Australia, once under Virat Kohli’s captaincy and the other under Ajinkya Rahane’s leadership.
‘India’s fast bowling is very good’: Marnus Labuschagne
Marnus Labuschagne in an interview with Star Sports said that India’s fast bowling is very good and makes them a tough team to beat in Australia. He also said that there’s always a high anticipation for the India-Australia series as it’s always a tough contest.
“India’s fast bowling is very good, which is really what brings them in Australian conditions and make them such a tough team to beat in Australian conditions. There is always high anticipation. To these two teams, it doesn’t matter where we’re playing, if it’s in England, Australia, or India, it’s always a tough contest” Labuschagne told Star Sports.
Cameron Green also said that every single point is crucial for the World Test Championship “Every single point is pretty crucial for the World Test Championship. Any way you can kind of get an idea of how to get one up on your opponent, we’ll try and take. If it is a bit of a preview for a World Test Championship final again, yeah, we’ve been trying to get as much information out of India and see how we can win it again” Green said.
