New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi dialled the medal winners at the ongoing Paris 2024 Paralympics and congratulated them on making the country proud. PM Modi spoke to the para-athletes, calling them from Brunei, where he is currently visiting on an official tour.

PM Modi also congratulated India’s Para-athletes Yogesh Kathuniya (Silver in Men’s discus throw F56), Rakesh Kumar (Bronze in Archery) and Sumit Antil (Gold in Javelin throw F64) for bringing glory to the nation following their remarkable performances in Paris. India surpass best-ever medal tally at Paralympics
Courtesy of a fruitful Tuesday (Day 6), which saw India winning five medals, the country registered their best-ever medal haul in the history of the Paralympics. India surpassed their previous best tally of 19 medals, registered at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. India ended Day 6 with 20 medals including three gold, seven silver and 10 bronze.
India won all their five medals on Day 6 in Athletics. Deepthi Jeevanji (Bronze in 400m T20), Mariyappan Thangavelu (Bronze in Men’s high jump T63), Sharad Kumar (Silver in Men’s high jump T63)
Ajeet Singh (Silver in Men’s javelin throw F46) and Sundar Singh Gurjar (Bronze in Men’s javelin throw F46) shone for the country on a medal-laden day.
After a slow start, which saw India winning seven medals in the four days, a two-day medal rush helped India record their best-ever haul in the history of the Paralympics.
