Mohammed Siraj booed again in 3rd Test at the Gabba over Travis Head send-off – WATCH

New Delhi: Team India pacer Mohammed Siraj was booed once again during Day 1 of the ongoing third Test against Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane. Siraj has been on the receiving end of boos from the home fans ever since his verbal spat with Australian batter Travis Head during the 2nd Test in Adelaide. Siraj and Head had a heated exchange after the Indian pacer gave the Aussie batter a fiery send-off in the game.

The ire from the home crowd continued for Siraj in the third Test at the Gabba on Saturday. There were loud boos inside the stadium after Indian skipper Rohit Sharma handed over the ball to Siraj for his first over during Australia’s first inning in the Test match. India won the toss and opted to bowl first in the 3rd Test in Brisbane.

It wasn’t the first time Siraj was booed by the Australian fans in the ongoing series as he found himself on the receiving end after his heated altercation with Head on Day 2 of the 2nd Test in Adelaide. The growing tension between Siraj and the Australian crowd has added extra spice to the already blockbuster series between the two top teams in the world.

The boos wouldn’t be an issue for Siraj as the Indian pacer has often thrived when poked by others and has brought out his aggressive best on the field. He will be looking to continue to focus on doing well for India with the ball and pick up wickets for the team at regular intervals in the third Test. Siraj was one of India’s most impactful bowlers in the Adelaide Test with 4 wickets to his name.

Rain interrupts play on Day 1

Rain has interrupted proceedings on Day 1 of the 3rd Test between India and Australia at the Gabba. Only 13.2 overs were possible in the morning session before rain delayed the proceedings. Australian openers Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney looked in good touch at the start of play as the duo combined to help Australia post 28/0 on the board in 13.2 overs before rain hampered play.
