New Delhi: Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir has been facing the heat from all corners after the team’s shambolic 3-1 defeat in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. It was India’s second straight Test series defeat under head coach Gambhir after the hosts suffered a humiliating 0-3 whitewash against New Zealand at home.
Amid mounting pressure and his coaching credentials being questioned, Gambhir has landed in more trouble. His personal assistant (PA) has been accused of travelling in the selectors’ car and not giving them any privacy while shadowing the Indian team everywhere during their recent tour of Australia.
Reports emerged on Tuesday that BCCI is set to pull up Gambhir’s PA over sharing the team hotel, travelling in the team bus and sitting in VIP boxes during the team’s tour of Australia. It has now been claimed that Gambhir’s PA Gaurav Arora also used the same car to travel that was designated for the Indian selectors, leaving them with no privacy to talk.
“Why was his PA sitting in the car specified for national selectors? They can’t even discuss things in private with an unknown third person in the car. Why was he allotted space in the BCCI’s hospitality box in Adelaide?” a BCCI official was quoted as saying by PTI.
More trouble seems to be brewing for India head coach Gautam Gambhir as his personal assistant has been accused of not giving the national selectors privacy by using their car during India’s tour of Australia.
