In the eighth match of the Madhya Pradesh League 2025, Rewa Jaguars defeated Chambal Gharials by 39 runs courtesy of some excellent bowling. This match was between two teams who had not faced defeat so far this season, but now Chambal tasted their first defeat.

On the other hand, Rewa has scored a hat-trick of wins. Batting first, Rewa scored 158 runs and then bundled out Chambal for 119 runs. Rewa’s batters, who put on a brilliant show in the first two matches, could not score big this time. They got the first blow in the second over itself, and by the end of the powerplay, three of their batsmen had returned to the pavilion.

They had scored 50 runs in the first six overs. A 69-run partnership for the fourth wicket between Kanishk Dubey and Sagar Solanki brought them back. Solanki was dismissed after scoring 36 runs in 26 balls, but Dubey stayed. He played a brilliant innings of 64 runs in 36 balls, which included seven fours and two sixes. However, Chambal bowlers finished the match in a very good manner.

Aryan Pandey once again looked brilliant and took two wickets for only 20 runs in three overs. Nayanraj Mewada also took two wickets for only 14 runs in three overs. Chasing the target, Chambal was in the mood to attack from the very first ball. Ankush Singh scored 16 runs with the help of a four and a six, but was out on the last ball of the first over.

Apurv Dwivedi now took responsibility for the attack on Chambal, which scored 21 runs in the first over itself. He made the team cross the 50-run mark within three overs. Apurv was out after scoring 45 runs with the help of five fours and four sixes in 15 balls.

When his wicket fell on the third ball of the fourth over, the team’s score was 63 runs. After this, Shubham Sharma got out after scoring only nine runs, and Harpreet Bhatia after scoring 11 runs. Despite scoring 74 runs in the powerplay, the Chambal team came under pressure due to the continuous fall of wickets, and they lost their eight wickets at a score of only 96.

The team somehow crossed the 100 mark, but by the 13th over, they were out of the match. Shivam Shukla displayed his mystery spin brilliantly and conceded only 20 runs in four overs and took three wickets. Last match’s hero, Saransh Surana, played an important role in helping the team win by conceding only six runs in three overs and taking three wickets.
