Kultida Woods: The guiding force in Tiger Woods’ life
Kultida Woods, a native of Thailand, met Woods’ father Earl when he was stationed in Bangkok with the U.S. military in the 1960s. She was often seen attending her son’s golf tournaments and stood by his side throughout his career. She was in the spotlight last month when her son participated in a Tomorrow Gold League (TGL) match. During the event at the SoFi Center in Florida, she was seen smiling and clapping after her famous son sank a clutch putt.
Kultida stood by her son when the golf star faced one of his darkest moments. In 2010, he held a globally viewed press conference and confessed that he was engaged in multiple extramarital affairs. His mother sat in the front row of the public confession with Tiger admitting that his actions were not acceptable and he had “stopped living by the core values” his parents taught him.
Tiger Woods said on The Tonight Show last year that his mother was the key to him wearing the now-iconic red and black outfit combination that he wore on the final day of golf tournaments.
“My mom thought, being a Capricorn, that (red) was my power color, or some BS thing like that, so I end up wearing red and end up winning some golf tournaments” Tiger Woods told Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show” last year.
