New Delhi: Rey Mysterio is one of the greatest WWE wrestlers of all time. Fans all around the world praise and admire him for his contributions and his abilities inside the ring. The legendary WWE star has shared the stage with icons like Batista, John Cena, The Undertaker, Mark Henry and Kurt Angle.
Now with his retirement nearing, Rey has turned his focus to his son Dominik Mysterio. He made his WWE debut under his father’s wing in 2020 and has got a lot of praise for his campaign. The former North American Champion joined The Judgement Day in 2022 and made a huge character change.
After that, the pair of father and son have faced each other on several occasions and always talked trash about each other. The WWE superstar Rey is proud of his son’s progress considering there are many stars like Roman Reigns, CM Punk and Seth Rollins present in the locker room. In the upcoming Bash event, Dominik Mysterio and Liv Morgan will take on Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley in a Mixed Gender Tag Team match.
‘I knew he was going to take it to the next level’: Rey Mysterio
In a recent interview with Busted Open Radio, Rey Mysterio praised his son and said that he knew his son is going to be bigger than his father. He also said that he’s going to do things that he wasn’t able to do in the WWE.
“I’ve always known, deep down inside my heart that my son was going to be bigger than his father,” Mysterio said. “I didn’t know in what way. But I just knew that he was going to do things that I wasn’t able to do and he was going to take it to the next level. That’s what generations are about, taking it to the next level… He’s doing it and he’s surprising all of us, his family, his peers, the fans” Rey Mysterio said to Busted Open Radio.
“When you grow up in your first four years of being in the business around that type of super stardom, if you don’t learn, I don’t know how you’re going to learn. He picked up on it” he added.
