The Diamond League finale takes place a month after the conclusion of the Paris Olympic Games, with a total of 82 medal winners set to compete for a major silverware in the Belgian capital. Men’s pole vault world record holder Armand Duplantis and American sprint star Sha’Carri Richardson will be the star attractions at the two-day event.

Neeraj competed in only two events of the Diamond League series this year. He first participated in Doha, where a 88.36m throw helped him with a second-place finish. A season best throw of 89.49m at the Lausanne Diamond League meet earned him another second-place finish.
The Haryana-based Indian athlete accumulated 14 points from these two meets to finish at fourth place on the table behind Grenada’s Anderson Peters (29 points), Germany’s Julian Weber (21 points) and Czech Republic’s Jakub Vadlejch (16 points). On the other hand, Avinash claimed three points from two meets – Paris and Silesia – to finish 14th in the overall standings. After Ethiopia’s Lamech Girma, New Zealand’s Geordie Beamish, Japan’s Ryuji Mura and USA’s Hillary Bor confirmed non-participation in the Diamond League final, Sable was automatically pushed in the top 12.
