Neeraj Chopra to undergo surgery for long-standing groin injury – Report

New Delhi: Javelin star Neeraj Chopra, who made the country proud with a silver medal at the Paris Olympics, is set to undergo a surgery to address his long-standing groin injury. The injury troubled Neeraj at the men’s javelin throw final, where he finished second after Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem, who bagged a gold with a record throw.

According to a report in India Today,  after contemplating surgery over the last few months, the javelin star has finally decided to undergo the knife. The report further states that the top three doctors who will perform the surgery on Neeraj have also been identified.

Neeraj struggling with Hernia

The ace javelin star has been struggling with Hernia which has been causing him pain in his groin since a long time. Neeraj has narrated over the days that he kept delaying surgery to make sure he had the best chance of competing at the Paris Olympics. Apart from this, his coaching team is also set to undergo a major change reportedly.
