Earlier, Indu Barma’s three wickets and one wicket each from Sabnam Rai, Kabita Joshi and Kritika Marasini helped Nepal restrict the UAE side for a modest total. For UAE, Khushi Sharma emerged as the top-scorer for the side with 36 runs while Kavisha Egodage made 22 runs. Rest of the batters failed to chip in for the side as they were unable to navigate through the disciplined Nepal bowling.
Khadka’s knock was enough for the Nepal side to take them through as tiny scores from other players helped them complete the task. Egodage clinched three wickets for UAE. Notably, Nepal, Pakistan, UAE, and India are all pooled into Group A, while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Malaysia and Bangladesh are in Group B in this competition.
