New Delhi: The most popular streaming platform, Netflix crashed down just ahead of the biggest fight in boxing history. Netflix is the official streaming partner of the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight and thousands of glitches and service outrage were seen across India and worldwide.
According to Downdetector.com, which tracks online service disruptions, nearly 14,000 reports were made of Netflix being unavailable at the peak of the outage. Netflix unofficially stated that this glitch is not spreading worldwide, it has affected some regions in some countries.
Netflix didn’t provide any official statement for this outrage. The undercard was streaming well but when the fight card moved to the co-main event, the outrage started.
Netflix has more than 280 million subscribers in more than 190 countries. This was also the first sporting live event for Netflix and it failed miserably as fans were not enjoying the event with many major problems like server down, buffering, pausing, and more.
Some viewers also find it difficult to stream the event from the beginning of the event and then they took the issue to social media, which fans called the ‘biggest fail in streaming history’.
Netflix promised their subscribers that they would telecast the three parts of the Paul vs Tyson countdown and the live event. The documentary was good and had no issues but the live event crashed and faced glitches.
Social media outrage:
Fans on social media criticised Netflix for not providing smooth streaming of the event. This was also the first time that any combat sports event crashed drastically. Let’s take a look at some social media outrage on social media.
