New Delhi: Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen has said that he would take legal action against Turkish journalist Tolga Bozduman after altercations in the previous week saw the striker get accused of physical assault. Bozduman had accused that after Osimhen’s side, Galatasaray drew 3-3 against Dinamo Kyiv, in the Europa League, the 26-year-old had assaulted him.
The Posta tabloid journalist alleged that he was taking pictures along with fellow journalists when the Nigerian striker became enraged and hit him outside a nightclub. Bozduman described the exchange to the Turkish news outlet claiming that Osimhen had tried to grab his camera as soon “flashes went off” before punching him in his head.
Osimhen is also accused of offering money to the journalist to delete the pictures and after being refused, the Galatasaray striker went on to threaten the journalist and warned him of consequences.
However, Osimhen has now come forward and denied allegations made against him. Osimhen has said that he had in fact gone to have dinner with some of his friends including his Nigerian teammate Kenneth Omeruo and the whole incident had happened in front of a restaurant. Further Osimhen said that they were finished with dinner and had gone to see one of his friend’s cars.
According to the Nigerian, paparazzi had come out of nowhere and without a word started taking his pictures. At this point, his friends had come to his defence and asked them to act professionally.

Osimhen has denied hitting the journalist and claimed he had only asked them to delete the pictures. “I never punched this guy,” said Osimhen and asked him to delete the photo saying that he had the right to ask this for his picture.
Omeruo who has also witnessed the event has backed Osimhen and noted that his teammate hadn’t touched the journalist. Osimhen has scored 16 goals and made five assists for Galatasaray and has been one of the top strikers in the world. He has a brilliant record while playing for teams like Lille and Napoli. Osimhen has said that he would be taking legal action.
In his interview with Turkish journalist Enes Cevahirci, Osimhen said that this isn’t the first time such a controversy has sprung up on him where paparazzi have lied about their interaction. Osimhen has said that whoever is correct will get justice.
