Nine People Killed in Israeli Air Strike on Southern Lebanon

Beirut: As many as nine people were killed in an Israeli air strike on Saturday in southern Lebanon, including “a woman and her two children,” according to Lebanon’s health ministry. The attack, which occurred in the Nabatieh area about 12 kilometers (seven miles) from the Israeli border, also left five others wounded, two critically.

The Israeli military reported that the strike targeted a Hezbollah weapons storage facility in the same area.

This strike comes amid ongoing exchanges of fire between Iran-backed Hezbollah and Israeli forces since the onset of the Gaza conflict last October. International mediators are working to prevent a broader regional war through truce talks.
