New Delhi: India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin lashed out at the Indian airline IndiGo for a recent “terrible” experience, revealing his ordeal with the aviation company after cricket commentator and analyst Harsha Bhogle narrated an incident a few days back. The airline has been facing widespread criticism from notable personalities and Indian citizens for their below-average service.
Ashwin and Bhogle’s criticism was built upon the airline changing the reserved seats even after paying for a confirmed booked ticket. Several other incidents have been quoted by social media users, lambasting the aviation company for shifting the passenger’s seats at the last moment, without any notice. After Bhogle’s remarks, Ashwin weighed in by giving his take based on his own experience with the company.
“This is becoming a regular menace @IndiGo6E, my recent experience with them through a third-party booking platform was terrible, they make you pay and then end up doing whatever they choose to do. Not sure if it’s a scam !! heyyy who is ever going to pull them up ??? All we can do is to not trust them. Even if you pay, they won’t give your blocked seats, Don’t waste your time or energy,” Ashwin wrote on “X” (formerly Twitter) while retweeting Bhogle’s tweet.

What issue did Bhogle highlight?
A few days back, Bhogle took to his “X” account and revealed an incident that happened on his recent flight with IndiGo. He criticised the company by sharing the ordeal of an elderly couple who had booked a seat in the fourth row so that they have to walk less in the narrow passage but as they boarded the flight, the airline changed it to 19 without an explanation. Bhogle added that people had to make noise about it which forced the cabin crew to restore the couple’s seats.
“I am sure @IndiGo6E, you can sensitise your ground staff to put the passenger first occasionally. With success comes responsibility. As someone who is proud of a successful Indian enterprise, I hope you can be more sensitive and not institutionalise this uncaring attitude,” Bhogle stressed.
Another example of #IndigoFirstPassengerLast. An elderly couple on my flight had paid for seats in row 4 so they wouldn’t have to walk much. Without an explanation, #Indigo changed it to seat 19. The gentleman was going to struggle to walk till row 19 in a narrow passage. But who…
