New Delhi: Gujarat Titans (GT) captain and star India batter Shubman Gill has rubbished the rumours of a rift with his India teammate and Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Hardik Pandya. Gill issued clarification after clips went viral on social media from the toss ahead of GT’s clash against MI in IPL 2025 Eliminator on Friday, suggesting not all is well between the duo.
In a clip that has been doing the rounds on social media, Gill and Hardik can be seen avoiding a customary handshake at the toss for the Eliminator between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans. In the video, Hardik can be seen bringing his fist forward for a bump, but Gill seemed to have ignored as he walks ahead without responding.

Fans on social media were quick to make assumptions after the handshake snub between the duo, as many came up with conspiracy theories, suggesting that the two captains were not on good terms. However, Gill took to his Instagram story on Saturday to rubbish all the rumours of a possible rift between him and Hardik.
The GT skipper shared a couple of pictures with Hardik and wrote – “Nothing but love. Don’t believe everything you see on the internet.” He also tagged the Mumbai Indians skipper in his Instagram story.
