New Delhi: Continuing his dominant run at Wimbledon 2024, Novak Djokovic defeated Lorenzo Musetti in the men’s singles semi-final to reach his second successive final on Friday. The Serbian ace produced some of his best tennis in the tournament so far to comfortably sweep aside the Italian 25th seed, who was a no match to his quality.
Djokovic defeated Musetti 6-4 7-6(2) 6-4 to reach his 10th Wimbledon final where he will be up against holder Carlos Alcaraz. In what will be a replay of the clash between the duo last year, Djokovic will be hoping to come out on top against the in-form Spaniard. Alcaraz defeated Daniil Medvedev in the first semi-final to reach the Wimbledon 2024 final.
Despite undergoing surgery five weeks ago, Djokovic has enjoyed a stellar tournament so far and stands just one win away from clinching a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam title. With his win against Musetti in the semi-final, Djokovic scripted history as he became the first player to achieve a remarkable feat.
1st player to reach 10 finals across three Grand Slams
Djokovic became the first player in tennis history to reach 10 finals in as many as three Grand Slam events. The 24-time Grand Slam champion has played 10 Australian Open finals, and 10 US Open finals and will now be making his 10th appearance in a Wimbledon final. He is the only man to have achieved the elite feat.
Djokovic holds an exceptional record in finals. He has never lost an Australian Open in his career, winning all ten that he has played in. He has won seven Wimbledon finals and has lost two so far in his career. In the US Open, he has won 4 of the 10 finals he has played and has ended up on the losing side six times.

Novak Djokovic eyes Roger Federer’s record in Wimbledon 2024 final
Djokovic will also be looking to equal the legendary Roger Federer’s record of 8 Wimbledon titles when he takes on Alcaraz in the final. Federer holds the record for most men’s singles titles won by any player at Wimbledon in the open era. The Serbian has a chance to match his feat and take his overall Grand Slams tally to a remarkable 25.
