New Delhi: Indian Railways, and the Delhi Metro, along with Centre For Railway Information Systems (CRIS) have joined hands to promote ‘One India, one ticket’, an initiative that is aimed at promoting a seamless inter-modal travel experience for Indian passengers. Under the new system, train passengers will now be able to book a DMRC QR-based ticket on the IRCTC website and app. To be sure, the QR-based IRCTC code was launched in the Beta stage on Wednesday in the presence of the IRCTC and Delhi Metro Rail Corp (DMRC) leadership.
All about ‘One India, one ticket’
The ‘One India, one ticket’ QR code can be booked on the IRCTC app and website
The functionality allows passengers to book a DMRC QR ticket 120 days in advance
The Delhi Metro QR ticket booked on the IRCTC app will have a 4-day validity for single-use
The four-day validity applies 1 day before the date of the journey, the actual journey date and 2 days after the journey date
One India, one ticket allows flexible cancellations
Train passengers can book metro QR tickets from their booking history page on the IRCTC app
They can book Delhi Metro Rail tickets on IRCTC from the origin or destination station
One India, one ticket will enable passengers to avoid long ques at metro stations

The Delhi metro ticket QR code will be visible on the electronic reservation slip received from the Railway ministry’s ticketing arm and catering arm IRCTC. The 120-day timeline is being rolled out in alignment with the Indian Railways’ advance reservation period.
