Chennai: Madras High Court on Friday extended the E-pass system for visitors to Ooty and Kodaikanal till September 30, 2024. The E-pass system was introduced in April to assess the number of vehicles and persons coming to these hill stations.
Delivering orders in this regard, Justices N Sathish Kumar and D Bharatha Chakravarthy of Madras HC said the orders were passed in order to obtain data regarding number of tourists visiting the two hill stations during off season too. Tourists can get an e-pass by providing relevant information at http://epass.tnega.org.
Justices N Sathish Kumar and D Bharatha Chakravarthy of Madras HC order that there should be no vertical cutting of the rocks on the ghat roads leading to the Nilgiris. Warn State highways department officials of contempt if their order is violated.
