New Delhi: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif faced criticism over his celebration video on athlete Arshad Nadeem’s gold medal at the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024. A video clip of the PM applauding Nadeem from his residence after watching him on the television screen went viral on social media platforms.
In the 13-second clip video, one person was heard telling the PM repeatedly that it was his vision behind the success of Nadeem before the two shook hands with each other. Here’s the video:

The netizens of Pakistan didn’t took this well as they believed that Nadeem struggled on his own and went to Paris by dint of sheer determination and perseverance without the morale support of the government. Here are some of the reactions against Sharif.

Arshad Nadeem won gold medal in the 12-men men’s javelin final event on Thursday to give Pakistan their first Olympic medal in 32 years after they last saw one in the 1992 Barcelona Games. Nadeem became the first individual gold medallist from the country while the Pakistan men’s hockey team has won three gold medals in the past.
