New Delhi: Patna Pirates’ star raider Devank Dalal created history in Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 11 as became the third raider to achieve 300 raid points in a single season in PKL history. Devank achieved the feat in the PKL 11 final against Haryana Steelers.
Devank’s maiden PKL final didn’t start well as Mohammadreza Shadloui trapped him in his first raid. He was just four points behind before the match and completed the feat in the second half of the match.
Steelers’ defence were successful in keeping quite the star raider in the first half as Devank just scored two raid points and was out three times in the first half. Devank also attempted just five raids in the first half as well.
Devank completed 300th raid points in the last minute of the match. He also completed the PKL season 11 with the most raid points in PKL 11 and awarded the best raider in season 11. Devank completed his 300th raid point by touching Shadoui. He was outperformed by Steelers’ defence and scored just four points in the final against Steelers.
Players who completed 300 raid points in single PKL season
Devank became the fourth player to complete 300 raid points in a single PKL season. Pardeep Narwal was the first player in PKL history to complete 300 raid points. He achieved the feat in season 5, where he scored 369 raid points in 26 matches and helped his team to lift the trophy in season 5.
Pawan Sehrawat was the second player to score 300 raid points in a single. He was the first player in PKL history to score 300+ raid points in two consecutive seasons.
Naveen Kumar also achieved the feat of 300+ raid points in PKL season 7 where he scored 301 raid points in 23 matches. In PKL season 7, three players scored 300+ raid points, which is still a record in PKL.
