New Delhi: Telugu Titans pipped Tamil Thalaivas 35-34 in close Pro Kabaddi League 11 encounter on Wednesday riding on some sensational performance from star Pawan Sehrawat (12 points) and Ashish Narwal (9 points). By virtue of this win, the Titans’ bagged their fourth victory in seven matches while Thalaivas, who have been experiencing turbulence, suffered their third loss in as many games.
Titans have now moved to the fourth place in the points table while Thalaivas remained in third place. For the Thalaivas, Nitesh emerged as their top defender earning four points while Sachin Tanwar came up with a brilliant 17-point effort but still, the side went down against Titans, who proved out to be better in the second match of the day.
U Mumba beat Patna Pirates
In the first match of PKL 11 on Wednesday, Ajit Chavan was in prime form for the U Mumba as he led his team to a sensational 42-40 victory over Patna Pirates after finishing with an impressive 19 points in 18 raids, negating the 15 points from his counterpart Devank Dalal for the Patna Pirates. Despite a strong start from Patna’s young pair of Devank Dalal and Ayan Lohchab, Mumbai swiftly responded with two super tackles, which were led by Sunil Kumar.
Ayan’s two-point raid helped Patna earn the first ALL OUT, but Chavan from Mumba enforced a super raid to put his side back in control of the match, taking a 24-21 lead when halftime was called. The match remained tight, with both teams exchanging the lead. Devank’s Super Raid leveled the score for Patna, but Ajit’s consistent raids kept U Mumba ahead.
In the final moments of play, U Mumba continued to put the pressure on the Pirates, sealing a two-point victory in the end.
