New Delhi: Rohit Sharma’s sparkling half century and Trent Boult’s incisive swing bowling propelled Mumbai Indians to a seven-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad in an IPL 2025 match on Wednesday.
Mumbai won the toss and then restricted SRH to 143/8 before chasing it down in 15.4 overs. The win helped Mumbai leap into the third spot with 10 points from nine matches while Hyderabad remained rooted at the ninth spot with four points after eight matches.
Rohit’s 46-ball 70, studded with eight boundaries and three sixes, along with Suryakumar Yadav’s 19-ball 40 (5×4, 2×6) took Mumbai past the finishing line as SRH bowlers hardly made a dent into Mumbai’s batting line-up
Klaasen, Manohar shine
Earlier, Heinrich Klaasen’s 71 and Abhinav Manohar’s 43 pulled Sunrisers Hyderabad to 143/8 after they made a terrible start. SRH slumped to 35/5 after Mumbai won the toss and opted to bowl.
Trent Boult (4/26) and Deepak Chahar (2/12) cut through the Hyderabad to-order to leave them reeling at 35/5 in 8.3 overs.
