PM Modi meets India’s World Cup heroes as homecoming celebrations continue

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed India’s World Cup-winning team at his residence in New Delhi as celebrations of triumphant homecoming continued. Team India landed in the capital city in the early hours of Thursday morning amidst huge fanfare. After receiving a grand reception at the Delhi airport, the Men in Blue were escorted to the ITC Maurya, where hotel staff and a Dhol Party were waiting to welcome the victorious team.

After resting for a bit, Team India left the hotel to meet PM Modi at his residence. The team bus was seen leaving PM’s residence an hour later. The Men in Blue will now leave for Mumbai for a victory bus parade in the evening.

Rohit cuts cake to celebrate historic win

Earlier, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma cut a special cake created by ITC Maurya staff to celebrate the historic victory.
