Medal winners receive jubilant welcome
Earlier this week, the Indian medal-winners were accorded a warm welcome as they made their way out from the Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi. Supporters in large number gathered outside the airport to welcome their heroes with garlands, customary dhol and chants. Apart from a sea of supporters, sports administrators and families of the athletes were also present to greet them.
PM Modi, earlier, wished the athletes after they claimed a record medal-haul at the Paralympics. Narendra Modi called-up the medal winners, applauding them for a remarkable show at the big event. India surpassed the previous medal tally of 19 earned at the Tokyo Paralympics three years back.
India is proud and delighted!
