Premier League 2024/25: Danny Welbeck scores his hundredth career goal against his boyhood club

New Delhi: Danny Welbeck scores his hundredth premier league goal as he gives Brighton the advantage in the 32nd minute of the game against his boyhood club Manchester United. The veteran striker makes his 459th premier league appearance playing for his fourth premier league club. Welbeck will be playing his fifth season at Brighton and Hove Albion, scoring his 27th goal for the Seagulls. However, the 33 year old has always had those patches where he couldn’t quite show case his ability up front, but on his day, he has proven himself to be a physical specimen who can do a lot of damage.

The Manchester born striker had a spell at United where he spent his youth career and also made it into the main squad, playing six seasons for the Red Devils. He had his fair share of ups and downs before he left United in the year 2014 to join Arsenal. However, he joined Brighton and Hove Albion in 2020 and since then he has made a total of 126 appearances for the Seagulls.

This season he has made a pretty good start to this campaign as he managed to score in the first game against Everton and today, he celebrated his 100th premier league goal against his boyhood club Manchester United to give the Seagulls the best possible start. The 33 year old just loves playing against his former club as he managed to score his fifth goal against them, which puts him at the top of the list of ex united players who came back to haunt the Red Devils to score the most number of goals against them.
