It was an end to end game that looked like it could involve a lot of goals as both Bournemouth and Liverpool came out all guns firing. Bournemouth stunned Liverpool with an early goal through Antoine Semenyo but VAR came to the Reds rescue and ruled the goal out for offside. That instilled a sense of urgency in Arne Slot’s men and Luiz Diaz, continuing on his good form, scored a quickfire brace to give his side a comfortable 2-0 lead.

Within 10 minutes of Diaz’s second goal, Darwin Nunez made the most of his first start of the season and added a third before half-time. The Uruguayan curled a beautiful shot past Kepa into the far corner of the net to put the game to bed inside the first 40 minutes of the game. The second half fizzed out in terms of action but Slot’s side always looked in control and held on to the clean sheet till the final whistle to bounce back from last week’s defeat.
