Premier League: Marcus Rashford left out of Man United squad for third straight game

New Delhi: It has been a mixed couple of weeks for the Manchester United star Marcus Rashford, ever since Ruben Amorim was appointed as the new coach. Rashford had a strong start playing under the Potuguese manager, after he scored the first goal of Ruben Amorim era against Ipswich Town. It was Amorim’s first game in-charge, as the match eventually ended with both the teams sharing the spoils at 1-1.

In the following matchday, Rashford was on target yet again, as he scored a brace against Everton, earning Amorim his first league win for the Red Devils. However, things have started to look rather uncertain for Rashford since then, as Ruben Amorim’s decisions in the past few games have somehow hinted a heart-breaking conclusion for the English forward.

The beginning of the problem

It seemed like the Portuguese had brought back the United product’s form and it was beginning to look like a road to career revival for Rashford, but things changed rapidly after a few decisions taken by the Portuguese tactician. Amorim decided to make a bold move by keeping the English forward on the bench against Arsenal, just a week after their dominant performance against the Toffees. Although he did make an appearance, where he managed to get 59 minutes of play, the following fixture yet again saw him sitting on the bench against Nottingham Forest where United lost 3-2.

Talk about starting of the problem? Both Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho were not included in the squad against their main rivals, Manchester City. The derby triumph was a sweet one for the United supporters and for Amorim, but not for their long serving English attacker. Even in the game where United were beaten 4-3 by Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham in the EFL Cup quarter final clash, Rashford was yet again excluded from the squad, making his future at Old Trafford look much more unlikely.

However, it didn’t end there, as tonight’s Premier League clash against Bournemouth has yet again suggested that the Englishman will not be travelling with the team as Amorim has yet again excluded him from the squad.

What next for Rashford?

Signs are looking rather concerning for the United academy product as this is a clear sign of what Amorim wants in the future. Unfortunately for Rashford, this might just be the end of his love story with the red side of Manchester. It looks clear that Amorim is not willing to put his faith on the forward despite his strong start. Rashford’s script has taken a rather unfortunate turn. A story where he was supposed to revive his career under the guidance of his new Portuguese mentor is now hanging in balance.

The end looks nigh for the talented forward, as this will be a heart-breaking one to witness, where the home grown star who made more than 400 appearances for the club, might just be saying goodbye in the upcoming weeks. After scoring a total of 138 goals for the Red Devils, he will more than deserve a big farewell, in case he decides to leave in the upcoming days.

Marcus Rashford has been excluded from Manchester United’s squad for tonight’s Premier League clash against Bournemouth. This is the third consecutive match that he has been left out by Ruben Amorim.  Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
