‘Putin Would Eat You For Lunch’: On Ukraine War, Kamala Harris Slams Trump’s ‘Bad Negotiator’ Charge

New Delhi: Following Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump ‘s remarks in which he claimed that US Presdient Joe Biden is a ‘bad negotiator’ in relation with Russia-Ukraine war, Vice President Kamala Harris reacted sharply to his claims by accusing the former of coddling strongmen like Russia’s president. She said former US President would “give up for the sake of favour” from Vladimir Putin, who would “eat you for lunch.”

Harris said, “Putin would be sitting in Kyiv with his eyes on the rest of Europe, starting with Poland,” Harris said in her presidential debate with Trump, noting “how quickly you would give up for the sake of favor and what you think is a friendship with what is known to be a dictator who would eat you for lunch.”

Putin Doesn’t Respect Biden: Trump

Trump attacked Biden during the highly-anticipated ABC News Presidential debate while he faced-off Vice President Kamala Harris.

Trump claimed that had he been the President, the Russia-Ukraine war would not have even started. He criticised the Biden administration over its inability to de-escalate the tense situation and that this has led the world to stare at World War 3. Commenting on Biden, he said, “We have a president who doesn’t know if he is alive.” He stressed on ending the over 2 year-long war.

Trump said, “I know Putin very well, he respects me. Putin doesn’t respect Biden. I will settle the war as president elect. I will speak to both the parties and get it settled. He built his troops after I left. Biden had no idea how to talk to Putin. It’s getting worse and we are dealing with WW3. We don’t even know if he is the president. We have a president who doesn’t know if he is alive. It is in US’ best interest if we stop the war.”

The highly-anticipated debate was held eight weeks before the United States goes to polls. Trump and Harris battled it out in what is likely to be their only debate ahead of the polls. This marked the first time when the the Republican candidate and the Democrat opponent met for the first time.
