Rahul Dravid’s son Samit gets maiden India U-19 call-up for multi-format series against Australia

New Delhi: Former India head Rahul Dravid’s son Samit has got the maiden India call-up for the one-day and the four-day series against Australia.

Samit made his senior men’s cricket debut recently when he played for Mysuru Warriors in the ongoing Maharaja T20 Trophy. He scored 82 runs in seven innings at a strike-rate of 114. He also bowls medium pace.

The three-match one-day series will be played in Puducherry on September 21, 23 and 26, and Team India will be led by Uttar Pradesh’s Mohammad Amaan. The two four-day matches will start on September 30 and October 7. Madhya Pradesh’s Soham Patwardhan will lead the team in these matches.

Samit played a crucial role for Karnataka in the Cooch Behar Trophy and helped the team to win the title. The 18-year-old scored 362 runs in eight matches and also picked up 16 wickets, including two in the final against Mumbai.
