New Delhi: Bangladesh bowler Hasan Mahmud, who wrecked havoc on the Indian batters on the first day of the first Test match in Chennai, was involved in a bad on-field collision with Ravindra Jadeja. Mahmud, who claimed four wickets at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium survived a injury scare after the deadly collision.
The incident took place in the 50th over of the first innings when Jadeja was trying to stabilise the ship along with seasoned player Ravichandran Ashwin after India’s unexpected collapse in batting. Jadeja started off the over in a remarkable fashion as he smashed Hasan Mahmud for a magnificent six over the mid wicket.

However, the Bangladesh pacer made a good comeback and deceived the Indian batter with his accuracy on the next ball. The ball hits Jadeja on the pads and the pacer appealed for an LBW. The umpire decided the decision in the bowler’s favour, announcing the Indian all-rounder out. However, after going for a review, Jadeja was later pronounced not out.
Meanwhile, while the Bangladesh bowler celebrated the dismissal, he charged running backwards towards the stumps and collided with Jadeja, who was on his way for a swift single. As the collision happened, both players fell down on the ground, creating speculations about potential injury setbacks.
