New Delhi: Al-Ittihad star and Real Madrid legend, Karim Benzema, recently sat down with MARCA for an interview published on Sunday night. In the interview, they discussed a wide range of topics including Real Madrid, Al Ittihad, Ballon d’Or, and the upcoming season. When asked about Real Madrid, Karim Benzema expressed high praise for the club where he spent 14 glorious years. He said: “Real Madrid are always the best team in the world. Players come and go, but Real Madrid will always be at the top, at the very top. They are the best and will continue to prove it.”
The French forward played in Spain again after 412 days, with his last game being for Real Madrid against Athletic Club de Bilbao at the Santiago Bernabéu on June 4, 2023. In a preseason match, Benzema’s current team, Al Ittihad, lost to Elche at Estadi Olimpic Camilo Cano, a small stadium in La Nucia that holds only 5,000 fans. Benzema and his teammates have been getting ready for the new season in Benidorm, a popular seaside town in Spain. Besides playing against Elche, the 36-year-old will also face his old rivals Sevilla on July 26 and Real Betis on August 3. This is Benzema’s first trip back to Spain since he moved to Saudi Arabia last June.
