New Delhi: Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior’s representatives have reportedly informed the club of their client’s financial demands if he is to remain at the Santiago Bernabéu beyond 2027. Vinicius not only dazzles on the pitch with his goals but also commands an impressive salary.
Following the Champions League first leg against Manchester City, the young Brazilian prodigy addressed rumours of a potential move to Saudi Arabia. Vinicius told Movistar+, “They haven’t spoken to me yet. They need to talk to the president. Hopefully, I can stay here for a long time. This is my home. I want to make history here.” Despite his comments, reports persist, suggesting interest in the forward, making it a potential option if no financial agreement is reached with Real Madrid.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Vinicius Jr. desires a salary closer to that of star player Kylian Mbappe. Since joining Paris Saint-Germain, Mbappe reportedly earns a base salary exceeding $15 million, in addition to a signing bonus for arriving on a free transfer. The Frenchman’s five-year contract also includes additional benefits totalling over $40 million net, which averages around $8 million per season.
What is Vinicius Jr.’s current contract with Madrid?
The Brazilian forward currently earns approximately $15 million net per season. Beyond his base salary, he also receives performance-based bonuses. Following his recognition as FIFA’s Men’s Player of the Year, his net salary for the final two years of his contract is estimated to be around $20 million per year.
Vinicius’ current contract with Real Madrid extends until June 2027 and includes a release clause of 1 billion euros. While his current salary is substantial, the Brazilian forward aims to narrow the gap between his earnings and those of Kylian Mbappe.
Will Real Madrid agree to a higher pay?
As cited by the Spanish outlet, the decision ultimately rests with Los Blancos and their current financial situation. Offering Vinicius Jr. an additional $10 million per season would have significant implications, both in the locker room and for the club’s future economic stability.
If Real Madrid agrees to his demands, the issue will be easily resolved. However, if they decline, the club will have to decide whether they are willing to risk losing the Brazilian prodigy. With a release clause exceeding $1 billion, it’s unlikely any club, except perhaps with a massive offer from Saudi Arabia, would be willing to meet such a hefty price tag.
After a stellar season with 16 goals and 12 assists, Ballon d’Or runner-up Vinicius Junior is seeking a pay rise at Real Madrid. Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
