Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday congratulated G Kishan Reddy, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, K Ram Mohan Naidu, Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar and Bhupatiraju Srinivas Verma from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on being inducted in the Modi Cabinet.
The Congress leader urged them to work for implementation of the provisions of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014 and to get funds and projects from the Centre to both the states, in a post on social media platform X.
While Kishan Reddy and Ram Mohan Naidu were sworn in as cabinet ministers, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Chandrasekhar Pemmasani and Bh Srinivasa Varma joined the PM Narendra Modi-led Ministry as Ministers of State on Sunday.
UP, Maharashtra, Bihar bag max representation:
It has to be noted that UP, Bihar, Maharashtra bagged the maximum representation in the cabinet. UP has bagged nine ministerial berths while Maharashtra has six, Bihar has four.
BJP got 240 seats in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, which is well below the majority mark of 272 seats required to form a government on its own. The BJP formed a coalition government with NDA allies – Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal United (JDU) and Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party (TDP) with 292 seats. This is also well below the 353 seats that NDA got in 2019 elections. The BJP which won a majority in 2019 with 303 seats, lost 65 seats in 2024 general elections.
