A video of actor turned politician, Roja Selvamani went viral in which she was seen signaling to two women cleaning staff of Thiruchendur’s Arulmigu Subramaniya Swamy temple in Tamil Nadu to keep distance while clicking a selfie.
The incident occurred on Monday when Roja and her husband, director RK Selvamani visited the temple.
After darshan, devotees and temple staff clicked selfies with the couple. Sanitation workers also asked for a selfie at the time and she signaled them to maintain distance.
Neither Roja nor YSRCP made a statement at the time of publishing this article.
Roja Selvamani served as the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Youth advancement of AP from April 2022-May 2024. She was defeated by TDP candidate Gali Bhanu Prakash Naidu from Nagari Assembly constituency in 2024 Assembly elections.
She had an illustrative career in Telugu and Tamil cinema for over 3 decades.
