New Delhi: Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and Bharti Airtel share price shot up on Friday’s morning trade after the tariff hike announcement. While, Vodafone Idea share price faced selling pressure on the bourses as so far as no tariff hike proposals have been made by the beleaguered telecom.

On Thursday, Reliance Jio hiked tariff of both prepaid and postpaid recharge plans by up to 27 per cent. Soon after Jio’s announcement, its rival Bharti Airtel too joined the bandwagon and hiked tariffs of its recharge plans by up to 21 per cent. The Sunil Mittal-owned telecom has been on tariff hike spree for last two years or so. While, billionaire Mukesh Ambani owned Reliance Jio hiked tariffs for first time since 2020.
