New Delhi: Ruben Amorim has got his first win at as the manager of Manchester United with 3-2 win over Bodo/Glimt in the UEFA Europa League at the Old Trafford. Alenjandro Garnacho opened the scoring for United in the first minute of the game. However, the lead was taken over by Bodo/Glimt by the 23rd minute of the game with back-to-back goals from the Norwegian side in just four minutes.
Before halftime, Rasmus Hojlund scored the equalizer before adding another one at the 50th minute to ensure that Amorim tasted success for the first time at the helm of United. Reflecting on the game, the 39-year-old noted that he was “anxious” about the game but the win would remain with him for the rest of his career.
Amorim noted that he felt at home in Old Trafford despite coming to the side at one-third of the season from Portugal. For the fans of the club, he said, “I am one of you now.” after the win. Amorim has said that he hoped that he would deliver consistently and not disappoint the fans who had tasted little success this season. The Portuguese is looking to implement a wing-back formation which United hasn’t been known to use.

“Half of the stadium doesn’t really know me… I came from Portugal. I did nothing for this club yet”.

This has been a bit of trouble for him as he had only two training sessions before his debut game in the Premier League against Ipswich, which ended in a 1-1 draw. For Europa’s success, he only had two more training sessions. Coming to the side at a point of football calendar congestion, it is hard to bring in a new tactical plan for the team.
There were moments of nervousness towards the end of the game as Bodo/Glimt kept pressing for their third goal. However, in front of their most successful manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, the team was able to win a second consecutive game in the Europa League.
Amorim expressed his happiness in the way the side turned up for the game and played to the best of their ability in the new formation of 3-4-3. Hojlund in particular reflected on the new style of play and felt the style though needed time to get used to but suited his style of play.

For most part of the evening Tottenham were the better side but were stunned towards the closing minutes of the game.
Son Heung-Min opened the scoring for Spurs through a penalty just five minutes from kick-off after Mats Hummels brought down midfielder Pape Matar Sarr in the box. While Evan N’Dicka had equalized in the 20th minute, Brennan Johnson put the Lillywhites in the lead again through a Dejan Kulusevski cutback. However, Hummels scored in the extra time as the two teams shared the points.
