Indian indices close lower on Oct 1

Indian indices continued to lose value on Tuesday with the Sensex closing 33.49 points lower at 84,266.29 and the Nifty slipping 13.95 points to 25,796.90. Indian indices tracked global market trends and lost value amid a flight of foreign investment, according to analysts.

The Sensex and Nifty were down over 1.6 per cent since Friday after investors turned cautious following the announcement of a massive stimulus package by the Chinese government to shore up a flagging economy.  Chinese stocks turned more lucrative to investors after this announcement leading to a withdrawal of foreign investment from India, according to Vindo Nair head of research at Geojit Financial Services.
