New Delhi: Australia’s star all-rounder has announced his retirement from the ODI format and shocked the entire cricket fraternity. Stoinis will retire from 50-over cricket with immediate effect, meaning the Aussies will be without his services for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy.

Stoinis said that playing ODI cricket for Australia has been an incredible journey, and he’s grateful for every moment he has had in the green and gold He further added that representing Australia at the highest level is something he’ll always cherish.

“This wasn’t an easy decision, but I believe it’s the right time for me to step away from ODIs and fully focus on the next chapter of my career. I’ve got a fantastic relationship with Ron (Andrew McDonald) and I’ve hugely appreciated his support. I’ll be cheering the boys on in Pakistan” said Stoinis.
