New Delhi: The Sensex on Thursday rose 144.31 points, or 0.18 per cent, to close at 81,611.41, while the Nifty was up 16.50 points to 24,998.45. Kotak Mahindra Bank, JSW Steel, and HDFC Bank were among the top gainers, while
Tech Mahindra, Sun Pharma, and Infosys were the top drags. All Tata Group listed companies saw their stocks rise on Thursday, except Tata Motors and TCS. Here are stocks that are likely to remain in focus on Friday, October 11, 2024:

Alkem Laboratories: The company said it has entered into a licensing agreement with Sonnet BioTherapeutics Holdings, a US-based company, to develop, produce and commercialise a new drug for the treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy in India.

Arvind SmartSpaces: The real estate company said it had received bookings worth more than Rs 500 crore for Arvind Aqua City, its township project in Ahmedabad.

AshokaBuildcon:  The company’s JV secured a contract for engineering, procurement, and cinstruction from Maharashtra’s CIDCO worth Rs 1,668 crore.

Defence stocks: Shares of HAL, Bharat Dynamics and BEL will remain in focus after the cabinet committee on security gave its nod for defence deals worth Rs 80,000 crore including the acquisition of predator drones and nuclear submarines.

NBCC:  The property consultancy secured a Rs 198 crore contract for the supply and installation of rooftop solar systems at SAIL’s Bokaro plant. The company’s arm Hindustan Steelworks Construction secured a Rs 1,000 crore contract from Gondwana University, Maharashtra.

PowerGrid: The state-owned comoany emerged as the successful bidder for an inter-state transmission system at existing substations in Rajasthan.

Suzlon: The renewables major secured a contract for a 400 MW wind power project from Jindal Renewables Power to be based in Koppal, Karnataka.

Vodafone Idea: The department of telecom on Thursday asked the telco to submit a revival okan before giving its nod for exemption from bank guarantees, CNBC Awaaz reported, citing people familiar with the matter. The telco was in discussions for a waiver of these guarantees for spectrum acquired prior to 2022, it said in a previous exchange filing.
