Stocks in News Today: EaseMyTrip, ITC, Kalpataru Projects, PowerGrid and more

New Delhi: Indian indices are expected to remain in red on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, based on cues from Wall Street indices. On Tuesday, the last day of calendar year 2024, the 30-share Sensex closed 109.12 points lower at 78,139.01, while the Nifty slipped 0.10 points to close the year at 23,644.80.

Stock market investors’ wealth rose by Rs 77.66 lakh crore in 2024 as BSE-listed market cap surged Rs 77,66,260.19 crore to Rs 4,41,95,106.44 crore $5.16 trillion during the past year. Here are stocks that are likely to remain in focus on Wednesday, January 1, 2025: 

Easy Trip Planners: The travel booking platform’s promoter and co-founder, Nishant Pitti, sold a 1.4 per cent stake equalling 4.99 crore shares in the entity for a consideration of Rs 78 crore via open market transactions. Ease Trip Planners is the parent company of EaseMyTrip.

ITC: The salt-to-paper conglomerate will emerge its hospitality unit ITC Hotel effective  from January 1, 2025. The record date for the share transfer is  January 6, 2025.

Kalpataru Projects International: The construction consultancy received orders to the tune of Rs 1,011 crore including deals clinched by its international arm, according to an exchange filing. These include overseas transmission and distribution projects as well as the domestic railways business and Buildings & Factories segment.

PowerGrid: The state-owned entity signed a green loan pact with Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) for a Japanese Yen-denominated loan worth $200 million. The loan can be hiked by another $150 million and is aimed at the development of key infrastructure for evacuating renewable energy and integrating it into the national power grid.

RPSG Ventures: The group’s discom unit Eminent Electricity Distribution will take over the electricity distribution services in Chandigarh from January 1, 2025. The company currently operates in Greater Noida, Kota, Bikaner, and Bharatpur.
