New Delhi: Infertility is a pressing issue across the world and has become a major health crisis in recent years. In India, around 10 to 14 per cent of Indian couples are facing a challenge to conceive. As per reports, it is quite common in the common these days and one out of every six couples is seeking help with conceiving. Dr Karishma Dafle, Fertility Consultant, Nova IVF Fertility, Pune told News9, “Men should include these vitamins in the diet and boost fertility. Fertility problems in both men are commonly seen owing to stress and various lifestyle habits like drinking alcohol, smoking, and eating fatty foods. Many couples are struggling with infertility due to various reasons.”
“Even inadequate sperm production can cause infertility in men that need to be addressed on time with the help of a fertility consultant. Also, you will be surprised to know that your diet matters when it comes to male fertility. Including vitamins can boost male fertility,” added Dr Dafle.

Right nutrition is often linked to male fertility. Taking essential vitamins can improve the chance of conceiving. Certain antioxidants can help boost sperm quality, and sperm motility in men.
• Vitamin D: Including vitamin D in the diet can improve fertility sperm count, and testosterone levels. So, eat salmon, cod liver oil, and tuna, dairy products.
• Vitamin E: Helps to prevent sperm damage. Go for almonds, spinach, and broccoli that are jam-packed with vitamin E.
• Selenium: helps with sperm production. So, choose selenium foods such as beans, spinach, lentils, brown rice, tofu, and flax seeds for the diet. Don’t go overboard on these foods.
• B-complex vitamins: Including B12 and folate are essential for sperm production and motility. Being deficient in these vitamins can cause low sperm count sperm count impacting male fertility.
