New Delhi: The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, India’s premier T20 domestic competition, is just three matches away from finding its new champion. The two semifinal matches will be played on Friday at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru with two mouth-watering clashes.

Baroda will take on Mumbai in the first clash with both sides featuring international stars. Mumbai will boast of its batting depth with the likes of Prithvi Shaw, Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Shivam Dube and Suryansh Shedge inspiring to chase mammoth totals. Shardul Thakur, Mohit Avasthi are the pacers who can find the key breakthroughs.

Tanush Kotian will receive the support from Atharva Ankolekar while Shivam Dube will be an addition in the pace department. Meanwhile, Baroda has seen the rise of Bhanu Pania in the lower middle order to be an ally to the top and middle order comprising Shashwat Rawat, Abhimanyu Singh Rajput, Shivalik Sharma, Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya. Atit Seth and Lukman Meriwala are the two key fast bowlers in the team.

Delhi will hope to advance to the final after failing to move past the semifinal stage last season. The team from North India will be facing a burgeoning side in Madhya Pradesh led by Venkatesh Iyer. Delhi have youngsters in their ranks who have performed exceptionally while Madhya Pradesh have seen star players step up.
