Tamil Nadu: Actor Gautami’s ex-manager held in 25 crore property cheating case

Chennai: The Kancheepuram District Crime Branch police on Tuesday arrested Gautami’s former manager Alagappan in connection with the alleged fraudulent sale of land belonging to film actress Gautami Tadimalla and her brother Srikanth. Gautami had complained that Alagappan had stolen her properties worth around Rs 25 crore.

According to her police complaint, in 2004, Alagappan sold the property in Tiruvallur district and bought another property in Neelangarai, Chengalpattu district. He had registered the place in the name of Gautami and in the name of his wife Nachiyal.

On December 21 last year, Chennai Central Crime Branch police arrested 6 people namely Alagappan, Nachiyal, son Siva, daughter-in-law Aarthi, Alagappan’s brother KM Bhaskar and driver G. Satishkumar on the complaint filed by actress Gautami.
In this context, Alagappan’s wife Nachiyal, and daughter-in-law Arthi, who were arrested in this case, had filed a petition in the Madras High Court seeking bail. The petition came up for hearing before Justice CV Karthikeyan.

In 2004, when her health suffered actress and former BJP leader Gautami, had appointed film producer and BJP functionary C Alagappan as her power of attorney to look after her properties.

The Kanchipuram police re-arrested Alagappan on a complaint that he had sold the properties of Gauthami and her brother in Ramanathapuram, Sivagangai, and other areas to someone else.
