Hyderabad: Food Safety Taskforce has conducted inspections at Lulu Hypermarket in Kukatpally area of Hyderabad on Thursday.
Infested items like Atta Bread Mix (10 kg), lose Baguette Bread Mix (15 kg) in the bakery unit was found and discarded.
Expired and beyond Use-by-date food articles like Sesame Seeds (20kg), Toned Milk (20L), Biscuit packets, Glaze (7.5kg), Gems (5kg), Fruit Juice (2pkts) were found and discarded. Updated FSSAI licence copy was not displayed at the entrance of the premises while Houseflies were found hovering near meat storage.
Workers in the food section were found wearing hair caps, gloves, masks and uniforms and pest control records, Medical Fitness Certificates of food handlers were available.
Food safety officials said that a notice will be issued and further action will be taken accordingly.

Inspections were also held at JNTU college canteen in Kukatpally where the business operator displayed improper FSSAI license.
Food handlers were found without wearing headgear, gloves and aprons. Semi-prepared food articles and cut vegetables were not covered and labelled properly. The kitchen premises was found in unhygienic conditions with food waste thrown directly on the floor and was not fitted with insect proof screen.
Medical fitness certificates and pest control records were not available. Rice flour (3.5kg) was found expired and was discarded on the spot.
This comes on the heels of continuous inspections at various food establishments including commercial restaurants to PGs, Hostels and canteens across the state.
