‘The best is yet to come’: Brett Lee believes Indian speedster has yet to reach his peak

New Delhi: Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh played a crucial role in Team India’s T20 World Cup victory. Arshdeep took 17 wickets and was the joint-highest wicket-taker of the tournament while Bumrah also picked up 15 wickets at an economy rate of 4.27 and won the ‘Player of the Tournament’ award for his brilliant bowling. His important spell in the final against South Africa also helped the Men in Blue to make a comeback in the match.

Former Australian paver Brett Lee during an interview with Sports Tak said that Bumrah has not yet reached to his peak and said that his best is yet to come “The best is yet to come. He’s like Benjamin Button getting age” said Lee on Sports Tak.

He also said that Bumrah is a modern-day great and is dominating all three formats of the game “Definitely in any era mate because you have to go on the person’s style, you have to go on what they bring to the table” he said.

He also praised Bumrah’s abilities and said that he is doing wonders with the red ball and has a good pace “Someone like a Jasprit Bumrah can shape the new ball. He’s got good pace, he’s still quick and he can bowl that line length in Test match cricket” he added.

Lee also talked about his sensational bowling in white-ball cricket and said that he can open the bowling and bowl exceptionally well in the death overs, and playing him is impossible.
“He bowls a stunning yorker. It’s almost impossible to play him. So, he is world class in any era. I’ve really enjoyed watching his career unfold. I’ve had the pleasure to work and commentate and broadcast on a lot of his overs”.

The Former fast bowler also praised Indian captain Rohit Sharma and said that he knows his players very well and understands what his teammates trying to achieve.
“I think Sharma is a terrific captain. I think he knows his players very well and understands what he’s trying to achieve from all of his teammates” the 47-year-old said on Sports Tak.
